Our editors have researched and tested dozens of nontoxic and sustainable dog beds (with the help of our pets!). These are our top picks that are safe, durable, and comfortable for Fido.
Most pet beds use cheap or mass-produced materials that fall apart, especially once pet paws get all over them. Some even include unhealthy or dangerous chemicals in the foam and stuffing, which isn’t safe for us or our little ones. However, a growing number of brands are bringing sustainability to pet furniture by using responsibly sourced wood, upcycled cotton and fabrics, and nontoxic foams to create beds fit for a (furry) king and queen.

Why choose a nontoxic dog bed?
A study by the Environmental Working Group found that dogs can be exposed to higher levels of harmful chemicals, like flame retardants and heavy metals, from their environment, including their bedding. Toxic materials can also give our pups skin rashes, breathing problems, or even more serious health issues down the line.
Nontoxic dog beds keep our furry friends healthy and happy. Since dogs spend a lot of time lounging and sleeping (if you know, you know), they deserve the same kind of natural and organic bedding we choose for ourselves to protect human health.
